Charlie Carter will be talking about how to make WordPress accessible.<\/p>\n<p>Following on from Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Charlies&#8217;\u00a0talk will discuss the many options that developers can do to improve accessibility within the WordPress platform. His\u00a0presentation aims to offer practical insight and advice into making your WordPress more inclusive without the bloat.<\/p>\n<p>Charlies&#8217; talk will include the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>WordPress intro<\/li>\n<li>Making WordPress Accessible Initiative<\/li>\n<li>WordPress Accessibility plugins<\/li>\n<li>Tenon.io and Access Checker<\/li>\n<li>CAPTCHAs<\/li>\n<li>Colour contrast<\/li>\n<li>Captioning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Charlie is the Founder \/ Director at <a href=\"http:\/\/webbism.com\">Webbism<\/a>. A web accessibility consulting business that aims to make the web a more inclusive place. Charlie is the founder of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.meetup.com\/Brisbane-Web-Accessibility\/\">Brisbane Web Accessibility &amp; Inclusive Design Meetup<\/a> in Brisbane, Team Lead for Accessibility at the Emergency Wiki 2.0 and member of Universal Tux, a group that aims to enhance accessibility within Linus and FOSS (free and open source software).
